There was plenty of yelling, shouting, winking, whispering, growling and snarling and, of course, the waterworks did complete the picture of this final adventure. However, the plot was sprinkled with too many emotional outbursts. I did enjoy a few scenes and their banter/bickering was funny at times. Also, the talk about trust got kind of old after a while. ILYs were thrown around very generously, and don't get me started on the endearments like baby and doll. Then again, what else is new, right? This series is kinda over the top and not really realistic. Drama and chaos throughout and in between a couple breathers just a bit silly and unrealistic. It was long minutes before Zane huffed against Ty's hair, a smile pulling at his lips. "And the white knight never left the board without blood all over him. "Indeed." Liam reached out carefully and dragged a finger down Nick's cheek, then held it up as if he'd wiped something off his face. "You're bringing a chess set to a gunfight." "What was it you used to tell me before missions?" Nick swallowed past the tightness in his throat. "I promise to never leave you alone in the dark," he whispered. "I promise to love you until I die," he said, his voice strong again. And I had to be made blind before I could see." It forced me to let go of my past and face my future. In Dominion, good gamers will all see the combo of available cards and fight to be the first to get those cards. Perhaps because there are multiple paths to victory. However, I only had acquired the first three sets. I had not played dominion until after I’d already played subsequent deck builders (Resident Evil, Ascension, Legendary, Aeon’s end, etc). It takes a certain kind of beginner to want to sit through up to 3 non-serious games before playing it more seriously, though, so this won't always be a good idea. They're very likely to have a grasp on how to think about Dominion strategy at this point. I offer to switch roles, where they play Big Money and I don't, then I explain the decisions I make as we play the game and crush them. If they lose, it probably hasn't clicked yet. If they win the second game, I'd say they "get" it. I explain the Big Money strategy, and we play a game where they can do whatever they want while I am only allowed to play Big Money.I help them through their turns and offer a lot of advice (if they want it). Since Dominion is a fairly iterable game, I like to teach over 2-3 games with a single, beginner-friendly kingdom: I think a lot of the skill gap can be solved by calibrating their expectations about the value of action cards as quickly as possible. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
